Thank you so much for choosing Easipay for your new carpets. We’re genuinely grateful you trusted us with your home, and we want to make sure you get the very best out of your flooring from day one.
This guide has everything you need to keep your carpet looking fresh, soft and beautiful for years to come — plus what to do if anything doesn’t feel quite right after fitting.
The first few days after your carpet is fitted are important. Carpets need a short settling-in period to adjust to room temperature, humidity and the gripper rods underneath.
Here’s what to expect and what we recommend:
Your fitters will rarely vacuum after fitting — this is normal.
You can vacuum straight away, but avoid the rotating brush/roller for the first 3–5 days.
Use suction only. This protects the carpet while it settles, especially around the edges and grippers.
You’ll likely see loose fibres in the first few days — this is normal and will reduce once the carpet has had a couple of vacuums.
A new carpet may feel firmer underfoot for the first week as it “beds in”.
Any slight odour from the backing will fade within 24–48 hours with ventilation.
If you see small indentations from furniture, they will lift naturally over time.
Most post-fit issues are completely normal and very easy to solve. Here’s a list of the common things people ask us about — and what you can do.
This often looks like a gentle ripple or bubble across the carpet within the first few days or weeks.
Why it happens:
Temperature changes, humidity, and the carpet relaxing off the roll.
What to do:
Many ripples settle on their own after 1–2 weeks.
If they remain, we’ll arrange a restretch.

This is uncommon but can happen if the carpet needs a tighter stretch or due to footfall on stairs.

Carpet pile naturally bends in different directions, especially after vacuuming or moving furniture.
Looks like:
Light patches or dark patches depending on the angle.
This is normal.
A quick vacuum or brushing by hand usually resets the pile.
Heavy furniture compresses the pile over time. Common (pretty much guaranteed) under Sofas and Tables.
To lift dents:
New carpets often shed fibres — this is completely normal and not a fault.
A few vacuums during the first week sorts this out.
It’s very rare we need to do seams on carpets as we’re one of the few companies offering 5m wide rolls. On the off-chance your fit required a seam:
Seams are often not noticeable at all, but may be visible in certain lighting or on certain carpet types.
If a seam looks open or uneven, contact us — we’re happy to check anything you’re unsure about.
Accidents happen — here’s a complete, easy-follow guide for the stains we see most often.
Before you start any cleaning:
Always blot, never rub, as rubbing pushes stains deeper.
Test cleaning solutions on an unseen patch first.

Regular Vacuuming
After the first week, vacuum 2–3 times a week (or more with pets/kids).
Use Mats at Entrances
This reduces dirt transferred from outside and extends carpet life.
Avoid Harsh Chemistries
Bleach and strong solvents damage fibres — stick to mild detergents.
Rotate Furniture Occasionally
Helps the carpet wear evenly.
