Thank you for choosing Easipay for your new SPC flooring. It’s a great choice — stylish, durable, and built for everyday living. We’re excited for you to enjoy your new floor, and we’re here to ensure it stays looking and feeling fantastic for years to come.
This guide will help you with those early days, regular upkeep, and how to handle common issues or spills if they arise.
Your new SPC floor has a rigid core and is water-resistant, but like all high-quality floors it still needs a little care at the start to ensure everything settles well.
Avoid dragging heavy furniture across the surface during the first few days — lift and place instead.
Make sure the room has normal temperature and ventilation so the floor acclimatises well.
Clean any installation dust or residue promptly with a soft broom or vacuum (hard floor setting) and a damp microfibre mop.
While SPC is highly water resistant and more robust than standard laminate, it’s still wise to check areas where water may pool (e.g., bathrooms, utility rooms).
Ensure joins, door thresholds, and skirting edges are sealed properly. If you notice any gaps or areas where liquid could seep under the floor, please let us know and we’ll advise you.
Ensure mats or rugs are placed at entrances to stop grit and moisture from being tracked in.
Use a soft-bristle broom or vacuum (without a rotating brush/roller that can scratch) to remove loose debris.
Then, perform a light clean with a microfibre mop slightly damp (not wet) and warm water or a manufacturer-approved pH-neutral cleaner.
Avoid steam cleaning or heavy wet mopping for at least the first week — even though SPC is robust, excessive water or heat attacks the joints.
Here are frequent questions our customers ask and how you can address them.
Because SPC is click-locked and has tight joins, sometimes lighting or furniture placement highlights these edges.
What to do:
In many situations this is purely cosmetic and will lessen as the floor settles and the room is used.
If the joins feel loose or you see lifting along an edge, contact us — we can advise whether they need adjustment.
Although SPC has a tough wear layer, abrasive grit, dragging furniture or pet claws can cause marks.
Prevention:
Use felt pads under furniture legs.
Use mats at entrances to trap grit.
Lift rather than drag heavy items.
Keep pets’ nails trimmed if possible.
Fix:
Minor surface scratches can often be lessened with manufacturer repair kits or gentle buffing — contact us if you’d like guidance.
Some rubber-backed mats or heavy direct sunlight may cause discolouration or yellowing of the finish.
What to do:
Use fabric-backed, non-rubber mats.
Avoid prolonged direct sunlight — use blinds or curtains in sunny rooms.
SPC is very moisture-resistant, but if liquid stands in joints or around edges (especially under mats) it can still cause problems (e.g., swelling, lifting).
Solution:
Wipe up spills immediately.
Ensure edges and thresholds are properly sealed.
If you notice lifting near an edge, contact us to assess.
Even with a tough floor like SPC, accidents happen — here’s how to deal with them safely.
(General rules for SPC:

Clean and dry the area.
Sweep or vacuum regularly using a hard-floor setting (no rotating beater bar).
Use mats at entrances and in high-traffic areas to prevent grit and moisture being tracked in.
Furniture pads and felt protectors are a great investment — they prevent scratches and dents.
Avoid steam mops, strong chemicals, wax or polish — SPC doesn’t need it and these can damage the finish.
Keep room humidity and temperature stable — avoid extremes.
If you move heavy appliances, use protecting board or sliders.
Keep some spare planks/metres from your original order for future replacement if required.
